Welcome
Guilds is a community-driven platform for discussion with minimal algorithmic manipulation — not one built to maximize engagement. It includes discussions, photos, questions, and long-form articles styled as “Manuscripts.”
Longer term, Guilds is built toward decentralized community governance and self-sustaining operation — a free speech ecosystem where individual guilds set their own standards rather than one central authority.
Merdeka 118 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Standing 118 stories and 2,227 feet tall, it is the second-tallest building in the world, surpassed only by Dubai’s Burj Khalifa. It was designed by the Australian firm Fender Katsalidis in collaboration with RSP Architects and officially inaugurated in January 2024. The mixed-use skyscraper contains 84 floors of office space, a Park Hyatt hotel, restaurants, retail areas, and the highest observation deck in Southeast Asia. Its angular glass exterior consists of triangular, diamond-shaped facets, while its structural system combines a reinforced-concrete central core with massive perimeter columns and outrigger trusses. The name “Merdeka” means “independence” in Malay. The tower stands beside Stadium Merdeka, where Malaysia’s independence from Britain was formally proclaimed in 1957. Kuala Lumpur is the country’s national capital and largest city, as well as its principal financial and commercial center.
