Guilds is a community-driven platform for discussion with minimal algorithmic manipulation — not one built to maximize engagement. It includes discussions, photos, questions, and long-form articles styled as “Manuscripts.”
Longer term, Guilds is built toward decentralized community governance and self-sustaining operation — a free speech ecosystem where individual guilds set their own standards rather than one central authority.
What strikes me most about this passage is the way it dissolves the ordinary boundary between the Creator and creation. God is not presented as a distant being standing outside the universe, but as the reality within which everything exists and from which everything receives its being. At the same time, I do not think Hermes is simply saying that God and the material universe are identical. The visible world may reveal Him, but it cannot contain or exhaust Him. He is present in every form while remaining beyond form itself. In that sense, creation is not the whole of God, but something like His outward expression: the visible trace of an invisible and limitless source. It is a difficult idea to put into language because the moment we define God, we reduce Him to something the human mind can contain. Perhaps that is why Hermes speaks through apparent contradictions. God is hidden and revealed, nowhere in particular and yet present everywhere.
“He is Himself, both things that are and things that are not. The things that are He hath made manifest, he keepeth things that are not in Himself. He is the God beyond all name, He the unmanifest, He the most manifest; He whom the mind alone can contemplate, He visible unto the eyes as well. He is the one of no body, the one of many bodies, nay, rather, He of every body. Naught is there which He is not, for all are He, and He is all.” - Hermes Trismegistus, Echoes from the Gnosis Here Hermes presents God not merely as the creator of existence, but as the totality from which existence itself proceeds. He is both hidden and visible, beyond all form yet manifested through every form. Everything that exists reveals some fragment of Him, while everything that has not yet come into being remains contained within Him as possibility. God, therefore, cannot be confined to any single name, image, body, or definition. He is beyond all things, within all things, and the source from which all things emerge. We, as men, are not separate from the universe in any physical way. And the universe, in turn, is not separate from Him, but in the most literal sense, it IS him.
