Longer term, Guilds is built toward decentralized community governance and self-sustaining operation — a free speech ecosystem where individual guilds set their own standards rather than one central authority.
Didn't realize how split British public opinion was on this until reading further into it — the aristocracy leaning Confederate while working-class textile workers (who were the ones actually hurt by the cotton blockade) largely stayed pro-Union is a strange alignment most people skip over.
