I first heard about Quaaludes from listening to a podcast with Jordan Belfort, The Wolf of Wallstreet. Jordan claimed Quaaludes as his drug of choice, there are a number of reasons for this, but a major one was the ease of obtaining the drug. The drug methaqualone was first synthesized in India, 1951.
